Getting Started

Booking a Parking Space

It is free to create an account. You can either Sign up and complete your registration details by clicking on Sign Up to Book a Parking Space or alternatively there is the option to create an account as part of the Book a Space process.
Do make a note of your username and password.
You will be sent an email to activate your account. You will also be prompted to add our email address to your address book so that emails are delivered to your inbox but do check your spam/junk folder if you don't receive it promptly in your inbox.
Click on Confirm Email Address and then Login to be taken to My Dashboard. You are now ready to begin searching for a parking space under Book a Space.

Who can book a parking space?

You must hold a valid driving licence and have effective insurance.

How do I find a parking space?

There are three search options:
• parking near your current location; or
• search by post code; or
• search by nearest train or tube station
There is also the option to Select your Vehicle Size to further narrow your search. Select the day/days you require the parking space from the owner's calendar. The results will be displayed and then simply select the parking space that best suits your needs.

I found a parking space, what next?

Once you have found a parking space from the search results, click on Click Here to Book. You will be able to see the parking space owner’s calendar which will show the day/days you have selected. Note: should you wish to book the parking space for future day/days, the owner’s calendar will show available dates – a particularly handy function if you know you will require the parking space in the future. Complete the details of the vehicle and click on Continue to Payment.

How far is the parking space from my destination?

From the page with the parking space details, click on Check walking time to your destination situated underneath the photograph. As you enter a place name, tourist attraction or postcode, select from the dropdown menu where you are going. A map will open in a new window and you can then select either the public transport, walking or bike symbol etc or change where you want to go. The resulting time is an approximate and for information purposes only.

Can I create an alert for a parking space?

Yes.

You have not yet registered but have found a parking space you would like to book but it is currently unavailable, click Create an alert for when available and enter your email address, select Alert me and when the parking space becomes available you will receive an email.

OR

Already registered, on the page with the parking space details or from the parking space’s calendar click Create an alert for when available, the system will automatically enter the first part of parking space’s postcode, select Alert me and when the parking space becomes available you will receive an email to the email address registered on your account. You can also create this alert from your SPACES I PREVIOUSLY BOOKED and then click Re-book parking space.

How do I register my vehicle?

Login and under My Dashboard, click on My Vehicles and then click on Add new vehicle and complete the vehicle’s details. Vehicle details can also be added as part of the Book a Space process.

Why is my vehicle registration number not being accepted?

Our system only accepts vehicle number plates registered in the UK. However, if you are parking a vehicle with a non-UK registration number you can still book the parking space. Once you have selected your parking space and clicked on Click Here To Book, you will be taken to the calendar showing the date(s) you have selected. Under Which Vehicle Will You Be Parking click on No to the question Do you know the vehicle make and registration number? Complete the payment process and then print off the Booking Display Slip and write in the registration number of the vehicle.

How do I know if a parking space is available?

When a booking is made, the system will automatically remove the parking space from its search results. Only remaining parking spaces will be made available during that time. If a parking space is showing as available, it means nobody else has booked it and it should be available for you.

What constitutes a parking day?

Our system’s day is calculated by calendar day which runs from 12 midnight to 11.59pm. The actual times you can book a parking space will be governed by the times the parking spaces are made available by owners, e.g. 7.00am to 6.00pm. If you need to park at crossover times (through midnight) e.g. 9.00pm to 6.00am then you would have to book and pay for the parking space for two days.

Payment and Transactions

How much will it cost to book a parking space?

This will depend on the price the Owner has charged for the parking space and how long you book it for. All parking spaces are charged for per day and not per hour. The price you pay is for the times you book the parking space, e.g. the parking space is available from 6.00am to 9.00pm at £8.00 per day - you pay £8.00 to park between 6.00am to 9.00pm regardless of how many hours you use the parking space within these times.

How do I pay?

You can pay by credit/debit card on the secure online payment system or with a PayPal account.

Do I have to pay at the time of booking?

Yes. We you will need to pay for the whole booking at the time of booking.

Can I save my card details or PayPal details to make booking a space faster?

Yes, during your first booking, Select Your Payment Method (payment can be either by debit/credit card or from your PayPal account). Depending on your payment method, you will be given the options of saving your card details or pre-approving future payments made from your PayPal account.

When do you take payment?

Payment is taken when you confirm your booking. Payment will show on your statement as Parkuphere. We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input.

How do I get a receipt?

You can view and print your receipt at any time after the booking is finished. Log in to your account and under My Dashboard select Bookings made, find the parking session you require a receipt for, select Details & Receipt button and then click on Receipt button and print as required. Note: Parkuphere is not VAT registered.

My Parking Space and Booking

How will I know that my booking has been accepted?

Booking is instant and you will be sent a Vehicle Parking Booking Confirmation email. If the email doesn’t arrive promptly, please check your email spam or junk mail folder.

How will the Owner know it is me parked in the parking space?

Once payment has been completed, click on Booking Display Slip which you will need to print as the Booking Reference Number is unique to your booking. You will also receive an email confirming your booking which will also give you the option to print your Booking Display Slip. The Booking Display Slip should be placed in clear view on the windscreen and this will enable the owner to identify who is parked in the parking space.
If you are unable to print the Booking Display Slip or don’t have access to a printer, please write clearly in block capitals on a piece of paper Parkuphere.com followed by your unique Booking Reference Number. This will act as your Booking Display Slip.
We suggest that you make a note of the owner’s contact details as these are not disclosed on the booking display slip so that you can contact the owner in the event that you are delayed and unable to vacate the parking space at the appointed time.

What do I do when I arrive at the parking space?

Obey the markings of the parking space. The Booking Display Slip (printed or hand written) should be placed in clear view on the windscreen. Please ensure that the Booking Reference Number is visible. There is no need to contact the owner as they will already know you have booked the parking space. Parking is at your own risk. Remember to take your valuables with you when you leave your car. Parkuphere is not responsible for any break-ins or damages that might occur.

I can’t see the full address of the space. How do I know where it is?

For security purposes the full address of the parking space is not revealed until payment has been received. However, you can view an approximate location using either Map View or Street View.

What if I can’t find the parking space?

Once payment is made you will receive a booking confirmation email with the full address of the parking space. We recommend using a mapping service like Google Maps for directions or visit www.bing.com/maps. If you still have problems locating the parking space, contact the owner to check that the full address is correct.

What if there is a problem when I arrive at the parking space?

If you encounter a problem when you arrive at your parking space, please contact the parking space owner straight away to see if they can resolve the problem. Their contact details can be found on the booking confirmation email sent to you. In most cases the parking space owner is able to resolve issues when they are contacted, and they are in the best position to help you. Note: Parkuphere will not get involved in settling disputes between owners and motorists. Parkuphere does not manage the parking spaces nor do we inspect parking spaces.

How can I find out if the parking space I have booked is in the congestion zone?

Check the address on www.tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/congestion-charge/congestion-charge-zone. If the parking space is in the congestion zone, you will need to pay the congestion charge. Visit www.tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/congestion-charge.

Can I amend the date of my booking?

No. You can cancel your booking subject to the Cancellation Policy and then book the new date(s) you require.

What if access to a parking space requires a security key?

Some parking spaces may require a security key, fob or code to gain access or a private permit. This information should be clearly listed in the Special Instructions for Driver when the parking space owner listed the parking space. If a key, fob, code or permit is required, it is very important that you ensure that you acquire this before or when you arrive at the parking space. The best way to do this is to contact the owner using the contact number provided in the booking confirmation email.
Please remember, that as a motorist, it is your responsibility to make sure you display any necessary permits and ensure that you are parked legally.

Can I make a long-term booking?

Long-term bookings of a parking space can be made subject to the owner’s calendar which will show the availability of the parking space. Note: all booking regardless of how long must be paid for in full when the booking is made.

How do I book a parking space for more than one vehicle?

If you want to book more than one vehicle, you will need to make separate bookings, i.e. one for each vehicle. Each vehicle will need to display the booking confirmation slip for that vehicle. We realise that this is not the fastest process and we are working on it so soon you will be able to book two or more vehicles on the same booking.

I don't know the registration number of the vehicle I will be using.

If you do not know the registration number of the vehicle you will be using, you can still book the parking space. Once you have selected your parking space and clicked on Click Here To Book, you will be taken to the calendar showing the date(s) you have selected. Under Which Vehicle Will You Be Parking click on No to the question Do you know the vehicle make and registration number? Complete the payment process and then print off the Booking Display Slip and write in the registration number of the vehicle.

Cancelling or Amending Bookings and Refunds

How do I cancel my booking?

If you know that you will be unable to use the parking space booked, please cancel as soon as possible so that the owner can list the parking space for other motorists to book.
You can cancel a whole booking or the remaining part of that booking in accordance with the terms of the Cancellation Policy. Login and under My Dashboard select Bookings Made and click on Cancel Booking Page next to the booking you want to cancel. A new page will appear and then click on Cancel Booking.
Note: the system will only allow you to cancel all of the remaining days left on your booking and not just some of them subject to the Cancellation Policy. You can, of course, re-book the days you would like to have kept subject to availability.
You can check that you have completed this by going to My Transactions which is updated instantly with a credit. The refund will be made to your payment method (debit/credit card/PayPal) within 3 to 5 working days or subject to your bank clearing operations.

What happens if a parking space owner cancels my booking?

We all know that sometimes things happen and a change of plan is unavoidable. Occasionally, it is possible that a parking space owner may cancel a booking you have made.
We do request parking space owners give as much notice as possible so that you have the opportunity to re-book or make alternate arrangements. We understand that this can be an inconvenience and we will do whatever we can to help. In addition, you will be refunded in full. Note: refunds take 3-5 working days to arrive in your account.
We take cancellations seriously and it is important to us that all the parking space owners are reliable.

When would I normally be eligible for a refund?

• The space owner cancels before the booking.
• The owner did not have a right to rent the parking space.
• You had to park elsewhere as the space was unusable or unavailable or did not exist.

I vacated the parking space but still had time remaining. Can I get a refund?

No. Refunds are not given for unused time.

I forgot to cancel my booking. Do I still have to pay for the parking space?

If you do not use the parking space as per your booking and have not cancelled, you will have to pay the daily cost for using the parking space for each day on which you have booked the space up until and including the date you cancel the booking.

Changing or Updating Details

Can I change my profile details?

Yes, login and under My Dashboard select Update my Profile Details. Update your details and click on Update Profile Details. A new screen will appear confirming that changes are saved and a confirmation email will be sent.

I have a new vehicle and need to change the details already registered. How do I update my details?

Login and under My Dashboard select My Vehicles and click on Add new vehicle.

I will be hiring a vehicle, can I still book a parking space as I do not know the registration number or make of the vehicle yet?

If you do not know the registration number of the vehicle you will be using, you can still book the parking space. Once you have selected your parking space and clicked on Click Here To Book, you will be taken to the calendar showing the date(s) you have selected. Under Which Vehicle Will You Be Parking click on No to the question Do you know the vehicle make and registration number? Complete the payment process and then print off the Booking Display Slip and write in the registration number of the vehicle when you know the details.

How can I change my password?

Simply login and under My Dashboard select Change My Password and follow the instructions. Password must be at least 8 characters including one upper case, one lower case and one digit. Click on Save my Password. A new screen will appear confirming that your New Password is Saved and you will receive a confirmation email.

What do I do if I forget my password?

No problem. Click on Forgotten Password enter your email address and a password reset link will be sent to that email address. Please follow the instructions and you’ll be up and running again in no time.

How do I close my account?

Login then click on contact us and let us know you would like to close your account and we will do this for you.

General

Why is my mobile number not being accepted?

Our system will only accept UK mobile numbers.

Why is there a message that the website is unavailable?

In order to improve your experience, every now and then we need to take the website down for a short time for maintenance. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Normal service will be available soon.

Why have I received a message that my account has been suspended/deactivated?

We may suspend or deactivate your account if we believe you have breached any of our Terms & Conditions. If you feel that your account has been unfairly cancelled please contact us.

I have received an email that I think may be fraudulent. What should I do?

Parkuphere.com will under no circumstances ask you to send your account details or password via email. Please contact us if you are in any doubt about an email that appears to come from Parkuphere.com. If you receive an email which you think is suspicious, do not click on any of the links or attachments and delete the email.

Is my personal data safe?

Yes, your data is safe with Parkuphere.com. We comply with the Data Protection Act. Your account, personal details, and any booking details are protected. Take a look at our Privacy Policy for more details. We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input.

Does Parkuphere manage any car parks?

No, we do not manage any car parks. Parking spaces are listed by owners who are businesses or organisations and have parking spaces available for booking. We do not inspect the parking space(s) and make no guarantee or warrant that parking space(s) are of satisfactory quality, secure or are suitable for your requirements. All and any rights you may have in respect of any misdescription of the parking space are against the owner and not Parkuphere.com.
